I was told that 'Valuation' does not include an estimate of reinstatement cost for building insurance purposes. I drew their attention to RICS details of service which clearly does include the reinstatement cost and received an apology and assurance that it would after all be included. The survey/report/valuation was booked on 8th October and I have heard nothing since then (8 days ago).
We are so sorry that you are unhappy with the service you have received as we endeavour to try and provide everyone with a 5 star service. In this case I truly believe we did our best and there appears to have been a slight misunderstanding, as the RICS now allow us to offer two types of Homebuyer Surveys which we clearly advertise on our website. The RICS Home Buyer Survey without valuation and Reinstatement cost, or the RICS Homebuyer Survey with Valuation. We were more than happy to provide you with which ever survey best met your needs. I note with some sadness that you are unhappy that you have not heard anything in 8 days since booking on 8th October. We always ensure we communicate with all our clients including our surveyor contacting the purchaser before undertaking the survey, to find out if you need him to concentrate on any specific issues. As previously communicated to you, your Homebuyer survey appointment was booked in with the vendor and agent for 19th October, 8 days after your booking was placed and your completed Homebuyer report was published to you on 22nd October. I hope the Homebuyer report has enabled you to make an informed decision on your future property purchase. – Kind regards
