Structural Engineer or Surveyor for Survey?

Question

There is a problem with damp in my friend's bungalow. Does she need a surveyor or structural engineer to advise her?

Answer

Hi Christine,

You can find out about the different types of damp and their effects on a home here. A Chartered Surveyor will be able to offer a Damp Survey to assess the levels of damage from the damp - whether your friend will need a structural engineer further down the line depends on how bad the damp is. You can find a Chartered Surveyor here.

Reallymoving.com saved me so much time & worry by providing 4 quotes for Conveyancers & Surveyors. Knowing that their qualifications were pre-checked was reassuring. The Surveyors quote allowed me to specify which level of RICS survey I wanted which saved time in comparing them by getting appropriate pricing the first time, rather than being seemingly overpriced like another comparison service.
