Wellingborough is a market town in Northamptonshire by the River Nene about 11 miles north east of Northampton, the county town. The town is growing in popularity as the rail link to London St Pancras takes under an hour, attracting many commuters. The town is therefore perfect for those who want maintain working in the city whilst having a more rural and quiet home life with house prices that aren’t extortionate like those in the capital. In the last year alone up to June 2016, reallymoving had helped 381 people move to the area.
There are two main types of housing survey, and our Chartered Surveyors in the area can offer both. The first is a standard HomeBuyer Report, designed for conventionally built, newer properties. The second is a Building Survey, designed for older properties or those that might have structural weaknesses. For example, a house that has had past flooding may need a Building Survey to check its structural soundness. The town is mostly built above the River Nene’s flood plain, so flooding is generally not an issue, but there are still many old buildings within Wellingborough, so a Building Survey is still looking into.
Whatever property you choose, really moving will help you save time and even money. When you’ve moved into the area, why not go for a stroll through Irchester Country Park, or go for a fun-fuelled day out at the Santa Pod raceway?
