Peter Sheppard is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with over 30 years of property experience.

Peter J Sheppard is a sole trader and independent chartered surveyor who is not linked to or owned by an estate agent or lending institute and as a result I only work with your best interests in mind. As a sole practitioner, I can keep my overheads down and ultimately my prices as well.

I offer quotes on the Building Surveys and I can usually save you money on the cost of the survey. I do them quickly and I feel the quality of my surveys is one of the best on the market.

Having a survey carried out on the property that you intend to buy will give you the extra peace of mind that you are buying the right one.

I offer a reasoned view, based upon my knowledge and experience; I don't make a mountain out of a molehill. Equally, if we think the property has problems I say so in a clear, jargon-free manner. I also use photographs when necessary to clarify what I am saying.

My Building survey consists of three parts; the first part contains the main report consisting of some circa 12 pages and covers all aspects of the property structure(s) inside and out and grounds, to a reasonably detailed level and itemises and provides budget costs for any identifiable defects or potential areas of concern.

The second report of circa 4 pages lists all external windows and doors individually and comments on their condition and again provides budget costs for all identifiable defects etc.

The third report of circa 4 pages lists all rooms and reviews each floor, ceiling and wall finish; again with a report on the condition thereof and with budget costs for any defects/remedial works.

I cannot fault the speed with which Peter dealt with our request. He rang us Friday - did the survey Sunday and we had the report emailed Monday - absolutely amazing. The report was well constucted and informative.

Very happy with the end result and although Peter had to re-schedule the original appt. he kept me informed throughout. He was also available over the phone to discuss points raised in the survey and was a real help in explaining certain issues to me.

Peter provided a detailed report for us including estimated costs for any repairs. He sent the report via email within 48 hours and a copy through the post. We met with Peter at the end of the survey and he explained the issues identified and was happy to answer our questions. We would happy recommend Peter and use his services again in the future.
