Gold Crest Chartered Surveyors began as a father and son team in 2010, providing RICS HomeBuyer Reports, Building Surveys and Mortgage Valuations.

They had a small team covering the East Midlands from their base in between Nottingham and Derby. For many years, they mainly carried out surveys and valuations, with only one administrator, who is still with the firm today. The team has grown significantly, whilst retaining the values and philosophy of when the company was young. Our company slogan is simple: we aim to provide the best possible customer service. This mantra has been instilled throughout the team, which has grown to 20 strong: 12 surveyors and 7 administrators.

All of our profits have been invested back into the company, focusing on systems and training, with the ultimate aim of improving the level of customer service, and improving efficiency of the report turnaround.

We are committed to providing the highest possible standards, and we’re proud of our 5* rating on Trustpilot, which has been maintained over the last 2 years. This rating has been achieved by the administration staff and surveyors, whose dedication and commitment to providing a great service makes the directors proud to be part of this fantastic team. As far as the company is aware, they are the highest rated surveyors in the country.

Professional, but no separate summary of items for lawyers to investigate which my lawyers said was unusual. Also a bit unclear about which costs are essential and which recommended.

The survey hasn't taken place yet but so far I've been happy with their communication and speed of service.

They were initially quick to respond and provide cheaper quotes than other firms but then communication became bouncing back and forth between different staff members, which was confusing. When we instructed the survey, they didn't have flexibility for scheduling so it had to be changed multiple times, which delayed the whole process. This was contrary to information we were provided in the decision making process. We were also told that the only way to communicate directly with the surveyor is to go through the call centre. This was also different from some of the review comments we found.
